PhytoMycology  publishes one volume with two issues per year. In addition to regular issues, the journal may also publish special issues dedicated to specific research themes of broad interest. These special issues are overseen by invited guest editors with expertise in the relevant field. Calls for papers for special issues are typically announced 6–12 months in advance to allow sufficient time for submissions and peer review.
